For me, Driving Miss Daisy Bedford is much more than a business – it is a way of giving something back.

My journey into companion-led transport and community support was inspired by my own family’s experience when my mum was living with Alzheimer’s disease and later receiving care within care homes. During that time, I witnessed first-hand the kindness, compassion and support provided by carers, healthcare professionals and the wider community. Those experiences left a lasting impression on me and inspired me to create a service that helps others maintain their independence, dignity and connection to the world around them.

Before joining Driving Miss Daisy, I enjoyed a successful career as a Director within my family’s food machinery manufacturing business. While I valued my professional achievements, I found myself wanting something different – a role that would allow me to work closely with people, connect with my local community and make a meaningful difference every day.

I have always loved driving, meeting people and hearing their stories. Driving Miss Daisy offered the perfect opportunity to combine those passions with my desire to support others. Whether I am accompanying a client to a hospital appointment, helping someone attend a social activity, or simply providing companionship and reassurance during a journey, I truly believe that the smallest acts of kindness can have the greatest impact.

Having experienced the challenges that families can face when supporting loved ones, I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust. I am passionate about providing a reliable, compassionate and person-centred service that offers peace of mind to both clients and their families.

Outside of work, I enjoy sailing, travelling, visiting the cinema and spending time outdoors. I particularly appreciate life’s simple pleasures, whether that’s feeding the ducks in the park, enjoying a walk in the fresh air, or sharing a conversation over a diet coke.

My goal is simple: to put smiles on people’s faces, help people stay connected to the people and places that matter most, and give back some of the kindness that was shown to my own family when we needed it most. In many ways, Driving Miss Daisy is my opportunity to honour my mum’s journey and to provide the same warmth, support and companionship that meant so much to us.
